If unable to pick up artwork in person, please make arrangements with a colleague to do so. Under NO circumstances may work be removed before the close of Festival at 5:00 pm Sunday, June 16.

 

All work must be original, have been completed within the last three years, and have not been previously exhibitied at South Shore Art Center (SSAC) or at the Arts Festival. No work will be accepted for the Juried Art Exhibition after 4 pm on Saturday, April 27. All artwork for the Juried Exhibition must be for sale.

Categories:

Media categories for the Juried Exhibition are: Oil and Acrylic, Drawing and Pastel, Watercolor, Printmaking and Mixed Media, Sculpture / 3D, Black & White Photography, Color Photography / Digital Media, Fiber Arts.

Fees:

A nonrefundable $15M/$18NM fee per entry (no limit on number of submissions) is payable upon delivery of artwork.


Juried Show Awards:

$300 Best in Show

$200 First Prize, $150 Second Prize, $100 Third Prize in each media category.

Abstract Art Award $500, sponsored by PaulGiulio (NEW this year!)

Fees:

A nonrefundable $15 fee per entry is payable upon delivery of artwork. No work will be accepted for the Members' Show after 4 pm on Monday, May 6 (only one entry per person). Membership must be current through June, 2024. Members may choose to list work as NFS, but must list value.

All two-dimensional work must be either matted or framed. There is no entry fee for young artists. (One entry per person)

GENERAL INFORMATION
Presentation Guidelines:

Please take proper precautions in suspending or supporting your work. Artwork intended to be framed must be securely framed, wired and ready for hanging on S-Hooks. Two-dimensional work not intended to be framed must also be ready to hang on S-Hooks. Clamped glass as a method of framing is not acceptable. Sculpture and three-dimensional entries must be accompanied by a sturdy, stable pedestal.


Sales: Juried & Members' Show:

The artist receives 60% of the purchase price. Mark your label with price. No POR (price on request) listings will be accepted. No pricing changes will be allowed after receipt of entry.

Liability

All due care will be exercised in handling work submitted. As long as the presentation of the artwork is carefully prepared, SSAC will accept responsibility for damage to work submitted. Entry in South Shore Art Center Arts Festival constitutes acceptance of all rules and regulations as stated in the call-for-entries including use of images for promotional purposes. South Shore Art Center will not be responsible for work uncollected at the time indicated above. Regrettably, storage beyond the pick up hour is unavailable.
