Bancroft Gallery The Bancroft Gallery is the centerpiece of the South Shore Art Center: Designed by architect Vcevold Strekalovsky, the gallery's trapezoidal floor plan and soaring ceiling create intriguing visual planes and sight-lines. Donated by Jessie Bancroft Cox to honor her parents, the Bancroft Gallery is recognized as one of the outstanding exhibition spaces in the greater Boston area. Moreover, the room has excellent acoustic properties that makes it an ideal setting for chamber music performances and other musical events.
Dillon Gallery Named for the Art Center's former Executive Director, Margaret Dillon, the Dillon Gallery is situated at the northwest end of the building. Its carpeted floors and warm terra cotta walls create an intimate showing space for our Gallery Artist exhibitions.
Satellite Exhibitions Our Gallery Artists are offered the opportunity to further exhibit their works at three outstanding satellite spaces. Paul Pratt Library in Cohasset, MA, The Music Circus apartments and the Palmer and South Shore Music Circus Galleries at the South Shore Conservatory in Hingham, MA.
